I’m a time-served engineer who started out on the tools, looking for a better path and long-term progression. Over 25+ years in the trade, I’ve put in thousands of hours learning the craft the hard way — figuring things out on site, investing in private tuition, and taking specialist courses to sharpen my skills.
I’ve worked on multi-million-pound projects, often overseeing many construction sites at once, where accuracy, speed, and problem-solving are non-negotiable. Along the way, I’ve trained and mentored many junior engineers, passing on the practical knowledge that took years for me to build.
As the industry has evolved, so have I. Today my work includes GPS machine control modelling and cut-and-fill volumetric calculations — blending real site experience with modern digital construction methods.
I wouldn’t say I’ve done it all. This career constantly throws curveballs. But that’s exactly what makes it so rewarding — both professionally and financially.
